A small deposit from the bowels of the buffalo

Just a quick one from me this month. Having recenty moved house, I had not yet set up my musical equipment, so I went for an initially minimalistic approach of just using the midi controller keyboard and the Ableton Live synth sounds.

For the first track I took a fragment from last month’s LiveLodge session and worked it up a bit.  After a second track using just Ableton, I then resurrected something I had produced previously when messing around with Coagula (the software that Brother Typewriter brought to our attention in his amazingly horizon-expanding BL-21 session) and played around with it a bit.

Finally, upon listening back to my 3 tracks, I decided that what no. 2 was crying out for was a guitar solo, so I have just laid that down.

So there you have it. Just the 3 tracks from me this month, which I am now about to upload.

I glad you did even this wee session. Really enjoyed it. Powerful, driving stuff.
Deep space 2 - Loved the drums when they came in - really pushed the song forward. Then the pulsing synth line - great. About 3/4 through it changes to a most satisfying robotic stomp.
Purity - sidles in with its lovely melancholic organ motif - quite Portishead and then…what a guitar solo! That really lifts the track. Full of yearning - It holds off reaching a satisfying conclusion until the very end. Great
Crazy cats - painful frequency at the start (not a bad thing) then the jittery clattery beat comes in and the filter sweep vibrates in synch (nice). These sweeping lines moving slowly are a nice counterpoint to the beat.

    Excellent little session!
