BL28 - Not much to say

Just a couple of tracks this month. What can I say? Had big plans, but starting own company is taking its’ toll. Looking forward to having more free time when dust settles.

Just a couple of tracks - but very enjoyable nonetheless. I really like the frantic beats of 20 bars. This could be developed into a classic. And I liked the topsy-turvy mixing of Spikes, where the lead guitar is quite in your face and the reverby vocal is floating around there somewhere in the background.

    Great stuff….

20 Bars – Loved the drums. The drum and synth combination are reminiscent of some of my the tracks from David Byrne’s Catherine Wheel, if you know that one.

Spikes – has a great atmosphere and love the pace of this one especially as the rhythm guitar makes an appearance towards the end. Feels like it was recorded in a cathedral – might have something to do with the choir in the background!

Yeah - I concur with BTu and BB. I like 20 bars a lot - the drums were great. I liked the glitchy stop start half way through and the instrumental was reminiscent of starcar-era Cope. Nice. Spikes was a good experiment in unusual mix placement. Both had a good upbeat headlong rush about them.
